Port Arthur Historic Site
The Tasman Peninsula was an ideal place to build a prison. Deep, cold ocean, thick forest and 300-metre high sea cliffs made Port Arthur a natural prison from which escape must have seemed impossible.

Mount Wellington
Stroll through cool forested gullies along historic walking tracks or traverse Wellington Range in the saddle on horse or mountain bike. Four wheel drive along rough mountain trails, climb leaning dolerite towers, or sit quietly among the birds.
Open all day, every day – no entry fee. Easily accessible from Hobart, Glenorchy and other regional areas, this reserve connects the city to the bush, and the mountains to the waterways. Park entrance fees do not apply, and there are no opening or closing hours.

Battery Point Historic Walk
Battery Point is a suburb of Hobart immediately south of the central business district. From Salamanca Place, climb the colonial era Kelly’s steps and wander up through the lanes and quaint streets of Battery Point, filled with stories of Hobart’s historic past. The curious 19th century sandstone and weatherboard cottages possess eccentric charm and nestle tightly into tiny streets and laneways.

Tahuna Adventures - Air Walk
The famous Tahune AirWalk is an elevated walkway 30 metres above the forest floor, with the final cantilever section sitting at a height of 50 metres above the Huon River, with spectacular views to the confluence of the Huon and Picton and beyond to the peaks of the World Heritage Area.
To reach the start of the AirWalk you’ll gradually ascend 104 steps, with places to sit and rest. We also offer disabled access – please enquire at the Tahune Adventures ticket office.
